Not sure why my first (lengthy) review didnt make it thru, anyway...
If youre into listening on your iOS device, look no further: CanOpener is your go-to player.
Although it lacks the so-called "social" features (music is about your personal pleasure after all, isnt it?), the sound quality is simply stunning. I mean it, as an experienced sound-engineer, just like (or maybe less than) CanOpeners developers...
"Crossfeed" allows you to mimic true speakers listening (namely "Modern Music" resembles the standard 30-degrees placement). And it does in a truly impressive way.
"Pencil EQ" is a clean equalizer which allows to compensate your cans frequency response in detail, just in case your own model isnt already listed in the presets. Awesome. Its an in-app purchase, but definitely worth the money.
Just as much as the "HiFi" add-on, adding dither bypass and high-quality sample rate conversion.
The interface may look weird at first, but once you get used to it, you actually end up to love it, I think: optional pixelated artwork ("youll never guess what Im listening to, peeper!"), swipe and hold gestures and a buffer/seek spinning wheel all contribute to build an exciting music experience.
The guys at GoodHertz built the (almost?) perfect iOS player.
Just grab it. No excuse.
Well... Unless your most sought-after feature in a player is to tweet what youre listening to instead of listening to it in a nicer way...
